Holmes Community College welcomed Suzanne Haney as a library technical assistant for the Ridgeland Campus.
Previously, Haney taught school in Alabama for 30 years. She taught for 25 years in public education at Piedmont High School, then for five years at The Donoho College Prep School in Anniston, Alabama. Haney taught grades 7-12 in writing, grammar, literature and speech, as well as Dual Enrollment English. She holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in secondary education with an emphasis in language arts.
“My husband, Terry, and I relocated to Mississippi last summer to live closer to our grandchildren,” Haney said. “We have a daughter and son-in-law, Savannah Dobbs and her husband Carson Dobbs, who have three children: Shepherd (3), Warrior (1) and another baby on the way. We also have a son, Slade, who is a pre-med major and plays baseball at Mississippi College.”
Haney and her family attend Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon. Her favorite volunteer work has been with Alaska Missions based in Anchorage and the Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham, Alabama. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
“I am excited to be a part of the Holmes Community College family!” Haney said.
