Pam Lyons Moore, an English instructor on the Holmes Community College Grenada Campus, was recognized as Volunteer of the Year by National Association of Junior Auxiliaries (NAJA). Moore is a Junior Auxiliary Life member who enjoys diligently serving her community. While an active member of Junior Auxiliary, Moore served as vice president, provisional trainer, president and ex-officio. She has also served on several secret committees that support the Grenada chapter of Junior Auxiliary. Over the past year, she specifically helped with Crown Club and Charity Ball along with her many other community involvements.
Outside of Junior Auxiliary, Moore is also active in the community as a volunteer for the Grenada Garden Club, which she has helped with for 25 years. This past year she served as Flower Show chairman. Additionally, she serves as president of New Century Book Club and as a member of Alpha Phi chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Women Educators. An active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, she serves on the Women’s Ministry Team and on the properties committee, as well.
Moore has worked at Holmes since 2008, and beyond teaching, she enjoys inspiring her students and mentoring younger faculty members. She was married for nearly 35 years to the late Kevin Phelps Moore. She is the mother of three daughters and a grandmother of four.
