Each year, the Holmes Community College Grenada Campus holds a Creative Writing Contest. All winners receive cash prizes furnished by the Holmes Foundation. First- and second-place winners are forwarded to the Mississippi Community College Creative Writing Association Contest and will be published in Holmes’ literary magazine, “Reflections.”
Winner of the Poetry category was Abbigale Kidd of Winona for “Yes, I Left” and “I Hate You.”
Winner for the Short Story portion was Marisa Logan of Coffeeville for “A Glimpse of the End.’
Finally, Ashlyn Gillespie of Greenwood was the Literary Essay winner for “Sherlock on the Spectrum.”
