Holmes Community College Engineering Technology students on the Ridgeland Campus achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the first attempt of the Certificate in Computer Aided Design (CAD) certification examination. Those students included Princess Anderson, Nisaiah Bass, Marissa Harris, Braden Hughes, Baylor Little, Ricky Tebo and James Walley.
“To say I’m proud of these students is an understatement,” said Engineering Technology instructor Heather Mooney. “They have worked so hard and I am so excited to see the wonderful things these students will accomplish in their careers.”
CAD certification enables students to find employment across a variety of industries. Engineering and architectural drawings may be utilized to build buildings and engineer equipment. This certification will also give students increased credibility and expedited professional development.
The Engineering Technology Department at Holmes offers six areas of concentration. Those include Architectural Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, Drafting & Design, Industrial Engineering Management Technology, Industrial Technology and Interior Design Technology. Each area leads to an Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS), and some also offer a Technical Certificate and/or an Advanced Technical Certificate.
