Lakeshia McGowan joins Holmes Ridgeland as Associate Degree Nursing instructor

Holmes Community College recently hired Lakeshia McGowan as an instructor for the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program on the Ridgeland Campus.

McGowan earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2013 and her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in education from William Carey University in 2022.

She has served as adjunct clinical faculty for the Holmes ADN program since 2022 and has worked in a variety of nursing disciplines throughout her career. Most recently, McGowan worked as a travel nurse specializing in medical-surgical and cardiac care.

McGowan is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting and listening to music.

She and her husband, Corey, have four children: Sha’keya, Corey, Amara and Caleb.

“I’m excited for this opportunity and ready to grow with this organization,” McGowan said. “Knowledge is power, and I am ready to spread the word.”
