Six Modine employees successfully completed the evening workforce industrial maintenance program, a year-long course totaling 240 clock hours. The program equips participants with the knowledge and hands-on skills needed for entry-level roles in industrial maintenance. Industrial Maintenance Technician is identified by state workforce leaders as a priority occupation. Funding for the training program is provided by Accelerate MS through a Workforce Enhancement Training project.
This marks the fifth cohort of Modine employees to graduate from the program since its launch in Fall 2020. Developed in partnership with Modine and customized by Holmes Community College to fit the company’s workforce needs, the program combines classroom instruction and lab experience. Training is led by Holmes instructor Herman Cummins. In addition, Modine provides job shadowing opportunities throughout the program to connect classroom knowledge with real-world application.
Course topics included: Basic Electricity and Electrical Wiring, Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems, Mechanical Drive Systems, Maintenance Welding, Industrial Electricity & Motor Control Systems, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

“Congratulations to each of you,” Franklin said. “You’ve dedicated a lot of time and effort to increasing your skills and have made yourself a more valuable employee.”
