The Attala Center of Holmes Community College is offering a professional truck driving class.
Classes begin on March 22 and end May 14. They are taught Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and on Fridays from 8 a.m.-noon. Tuition is $1450 and will be taught by Rodney Mainelli.
The Professional Truck Driving training program is an eight week program that prepares students to enter the commercial truck driving industry. The program includes classroom, controlled driving environment, and road driving to provide instruction in operating diesel powered vehicles, DOT rules and regulations, shifting techniques, pre and post trip inspections, and keeping necessary records.
Admission requirements are as follows: pass DOT physical, pass DOT drug screen, 18 years or older, clean driving and criminal record and CDL Class A permit.
Graduates of the CDL training will acquire knowledge in DOT rules and regulations, pre and post trip inspections, proper shifting techniques and proper backing techniques.
