Colleges reveal results of economic impact study

Mississippi’s 15 Community College presidents gathered at the State Capitol with data proving the two-year college system is valuable to the state in numerous ways. They commissioned an economic impact report by NSPARC, or the National Strategic Planning and Analysis Research Center at Mississippi State University to analyze the more than 100-year old community college system to determine who is served by the statewide network, the outcomes in relation to the labor market and the estimated overall economic impact on the state.

Holmes Foundation awarded NEH Challenge Grant for McMorrough Library

Holmes Community College is proud to announce that the Holmes Community College Development Foundation, Inc. has been named as one of the 2020 grant recipients selected by National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Infrastructure and Capacity Building Challenge Grant on behalf of the McMorrough Library and Archives. The HCC Development Foundation sought the NEH matching grant to strengthen and aid the library in warranting excellent humanities provisions.

Holmes Community College (HCC) Development Foundation has launched a new opportunity for Mississippi residents, especially alumni, employees, and friends to show their support of Holmes through their daily travels. Holmes is the only community college in the state of Mississippi with a specialty car tag.

Academic and technical students with exemplary quality point averages are recognized at the end of the fall and spring semesters by being named to the President’s or Dean’s list. To be eligible for such recognition a student must be enrolled in at least twelve semester hours.

Spring 2020 Registration is now open

Holmes Community College registration for the spring term began on Nov. 11. The college offers transferable academic courses, the Associate of Arts degree, the Associate of Applied Science degree, technical certificates and career certificates, as well as workforce training.
