Elizabeth “Emma” Brasher, a pre-nursing student on the Holmes Community College Grenada Campus, has been named a 2025 Coca-Cola Academic Team Silver Scholar and will receive a $1,250 scholarship.
Brasher has distinguished herself as a top scholar and leader at Holmes, earning multiple accolades for her academic achievements and campus involvement. She has been named to the President’s List and received the STEM Award, the Mathematics Award and the prestigious honor of induction into the Holmes Hall of Fame. She was also selected as Campus Class Favorite and named to the 2025 Phi Theta Kappa honor society All-Mississippi Academic Team.
Beyond her academic success, Brasher is an active and dedicated member of the Holmes community. She serves as president of both Phi Theta Kappa and the Student Government Association. Additionally, she is an engaged member of the Baptist Student Union and Christ Community Church.
Upon graduation, Brasher plans to continue her education at Delta State University, where she will pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her ultimate goal is to become a general nurse practitioner with a specialization in dermatology.
The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation sponsors the Coca-Cola Academic Team program by recognizing 50 Gold, 50 Silver and 50 Bronze Scholars with nearly $200,000 in scholarships annually. Each scholar also receives a commemorative medallion.

Students are nominated for the academic team by their college administrators. Selection is based on academic achievement, leadership, and engagement in college and community service. Coca-Cola Academic Team members will be recognized in both local and statewide ceremonies. They will also be recognized internationally during Phi Theta Kappa’s annual convention, PTK Catalyst, in Kansas City, Missouri, April 3-5.
