Mary Brantley, an English instructor on the Holmes Community College Ridgeland Campus, recently served on the advisory board for the national textbook, “The St. Martin’s Guide to Writing” (11th edition Annotated), and her reviews were featured in the acknowledgments section. Not only was her name included in the list of acknowledgments (on p. xiii) in the national student edition, her review of the book was featured on the cover of the complimentary copy sent to instructors.

The Holmes Community College Development Foundation, Inc. Golf Classic will be held Wednesday, May 11, at Deerfield Golf Club in Madison.

Syndicated cartoonist Marshall Ramsey will be the commencement speaker for the May 13 Commencement ceremonies at Holmes Community College.

The Holmes Community College Attala Center in Kosciusko is excited to announce the addition of a new course offering – Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMS 1118) – for the fall of 2016. Instructor Allen Green from Grenada plans to teach the course, which will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

The deadline to apply for the Professional Truck Driver Training Program at the Attala Center is April 7. Classes will begin on April 11.

On Friday, Feb. 26, the Holmes Community College Mathematics Department hosted the Annual Mississippi Council of Teachers of Mathematics (MCTM) District Junior High Math Competition for area seventh and eighth grade students in the Joe A. Adams Student Center on the Ridgeland Campus.
