The Holmes Community College Goodman Campus is offering two different art classes taught by Fine Arts Chair and art instructor Jay Cheatham this fall. The activity-specific workshops include: Still Life with Flowers and Christmas Ornaments.

The Kosciusko Attala Partnership has been awarded a $1,000 grant from Enbridge, one of the nation’s leading energy delivery companies.

Holmes Community College recently announced members of the 2019 Homecoming Court. Ridgeland Campus Homecoming Maids include: Student Body Maid Isabella Wade of Madison; Sophomore Maid Destiny Maxwell of Brookhaven; Sophomore Maid Brandi Palmer of Jackson; Freshman Maid Amanda Jacobs of Jackson and Freshman Maid Deja Sloan of Houston, Texas.

Homecoming 2019 is set for Thursday, Oct. 24 on the Goodman Campus with activities starting at 8 a.m. and finishing up with live music after the football game against Coahoma Community College.

Effective Sept. 9, 2019, Holmes will begin administering evening and weekend tests for High School Equivalency (HSE) on the Ridgeland Campus. The GED Test Center hours will be extended on Monday and Wednesday until 9 p.m. GED tests will be given the first Saturday of every month from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m.

Holmes Community College Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) students had a 98 percent pass rate on the first attempt of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). The Holmes ADN program is a 66-hour program and graduates earn the Associate of Applied Science degree. Holmes offers the ADN program on the Grenada and Ridgeland campuses.

Holmes Community College patrol officer Sheyanne Dean of West recently graduated from the Mississippi Delta Community Law Enforcement Training Academy in Moorhead.

The Holmes Community College Electrical Lineman Program has added another bucket truck to its fleet thanks to a donation from B&B Electrical and Utility Contractors, Inc. out of Brandon.

The Holmes Community College Attala Center is offering Brick Masonry this fall and still has spots available for those who are interested.

Theresa Hargett, an Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) instructor on the Holmes Community College Grenada Campus, recently earned a Doctor of Higher Education and Leadership from the University of Mississippi. Hargett’s dissertation was titled “Students’ Perceptions and Strategies for Success in an Associate Degree Nursing Program.”
