The 2018 Spring Pops Concert is set for Tuesday, April 24 at 7 p.m. in McDaniel Hall Auditorium on the Goodman Campus of Holmes Community College.

.On Friday, April 13, the Ridgeland Campus will hold its annual Freshman Friday event, while also celebrating the school mascot Major’s first birthday.

The Ninetieth Commencement exercises are set for Friday, May 11 in Frank Branch Coliseum on the Goodman Campus. The AA ceremony is set for 10 a.m. with the AAS/Certificate ceremony being set for 2 p.m.

Goodman Campus student Christopher Kalil and Goodman English Instructor William C. “Chad” Moorer recently were recognized as William Winter Scholars during the 29th Annual Natchez Literary and Cinema Celebration.

The Goodman Campus recently had two visual arts students place first and third in painting in the Mississippi Community/Junior College Arts Instructions Association state art competition.

Author Richard Grant, who wrote “Dispatches from Pluto: Lost and Found in the Mississippi Delta,” will speak at the Holmes Community College Ridgeland Campus on Tuesday, April 10 at 12:30 p.m. in the Pat McGowan Workforce Building. Grant will discuss his New York Times Bestseller as well as his time in the Mississippi Delta.

From meeting new people and adjusting to a new environment to dealing with academic pressures and learning the art of time management, the college years can be tough for anyone – and even more so for those who have an autism spectrum disorder. While autism brings about its share of challenges that might impede college success, this has not been the case for Holmes Community College student Elizabeth “Liz” Howell.

The 2018 HCC Sports Hall of Fame Banquet will be held on Thursday, April 26 at 6 p.m. in Frank Branch Coliseum on the Goodman Campus.
