Holmes takes third in state yearbook competition

Holmes Community College recently took third place in the Mississippi Community/Junior College Press Association yearbook competition.

The remaining places included: Southwest, first; Northwest, second; Jones, fourth; Hinds-Raymond, fifth; Northeast, sixth; Hinds-Utica, seventh; East Central, eighth; Itawamba, ninth; and Mississippi Delta, tenth.

Categories judges included: cover, theme, structure, design, typography, photography and copy.

Cover placings included: Southwest, first; Holmes, second; East Central, third; Northwest, fourth; Itawamba, fifth; Hinds-Raymond and Hinds-Utica, tied for sixth; Northeast, seventh; Jones, eighth; and Mississippi Delta, ninth.

Theme placings included: Northwest, first; Holmes, second; Southwest, third; Hinds-Utica and Jones, tied for fourth; Itawamba, fifth; Northeast, sixth; East Central, seventh; and Hinds-Raymond and Mississippi Delta, tied for eighth.

Structure placings included: Holmes, first; Southwest, second; Hinds-Raymond, third; Northwest, fourth; Northeast, fifth; Jones, sixth; East Central and Hinds-Utica, tied for seventh; Mississippi Delta, eighth; and Itawamba, ninth.

Design placings included: Southwest, first; Northwest, second; Holmes, third; Jones, fourth; Hinds-Raymond, fifth; Northeast, sixth; Hinds-Utica, seventh; Mississippi Delta, eighth; East Central, ninth; and Itawamba, tenth.

Typography placings included: Southwest, first; Northwest, second; Holmes, third; Hinds-Utica, Jones and Mississippi Delta, tied for fourth; Hinds-Raymond, fifth; Itawamba, sixth; East Central, seventh; and Northeast, eighth.

Photography placings included: Southwest, first; Holmes, second; Northwest, third; Jones, fourth; Itawamba and Hinds-Raymond, tied for fifth; East Central, sixth; Northeast and Mississippi Delta, tied for seventh; and Hinds-Utica, eighth.

Copy placings included: Southwest, first; Northwest, second; Holmes and Jones, tied for third; Northeast, fourth; Hinds-Utica, fifth; Hinds-Raymond, sixth; East Central, seventh; Mississippi Delta, eighth; and Itawamba, ninth.
