Morgan earns doctorate from Delta State University

Larry Morgan, a music and computer science instructor on the Holmes Community College Ridgeland Campus, recently earned his Ed.D. in Higher Education from Delta State University. His dissertation was titled “The Addition of Video to Music Appreciation Classes and Its Effect on Student Achievement and Attitude.” Dr. Morgan received his previous degrees – a Bachelor of Music Education, a Master of Music Education and a Master of Education – from Mississippi State University.
Despite having such a long educational journey, Dr. Morgan still vividly remembers his very first college class – English Comp I at Holmes Junior College during the summer of 1981 with Mrs. Harvey Black. Dr. Morgan, a resident of Pearl, has been a member of the Holmes family since 2003. He previously served as a continuing education computer instructor at Jackson State University and as a high school computer teacher.
