Four members of the Holmes Community College Growl student newspaper attended the 17th Annual O.C. McDavid Journalism Conference at the Mississippi Children’s Museum on Thursday, March 24.

Holmes Community College students Taylor Adcock of Sallis, Kristin Alexander of Vaughan, Mallory Corley of Pelahatchie, Amina Jatoi of Ridgeland, Etta Jennings of Grenada, and Abby Vance of Grenada were honored at the All-Mississippi Community College Academic Team Recognition Luncheon on March 22.

On Friday, Feb. 26, the Holmes Community College Mathematics Department hosted the Annual Mississippi Council of Teachers of Mathematics (MCTM) District Junior High Math Competition for area seventh and eighth grade students in the Joe A. Adams Student Center on the Ridgeland Campus.

Dr. Andrew Kelly, English instructor, recently announced the winners of the 2016 Holmes Community College Ridgeland Campus Literary Contest.

The Holmes Community College Foundation Legacy Club recently took a trip to Nashville.

The Make it in America Internship Program is currently offering internships to sophomore students enrolled in Career Technical Associate degree programs in Advanced Manufacturing related fields. The paid internship program is available through the summer of 2016.

Students interested in the Fall 2016 Welding program on the Goodman Campus will participate in a competitive selection process.

Thirteen students from the Goodman Campus who are part of the Social and Behavioral Science Honors Program visited the Mississippi Children’s Home Services and CARES School in Jackson on Feb. 22.

The Holmes Community College Goodman Campus, in partnership with Hunter Engineering, will be offering a five- week GMAW (MIG Welding) 30 hours training class that will begin April 14 in the Vocational Building.
