Holmes Foundation receives $1K Grant from Walmart

Walmart recently donated a $1000 grant check to the Holmes Community College Development Foundation. Dr. Lindy McCain, Executive Director of the Foundation, requested and was approved for funding through Walmart’s grant program. The monies will be used for the purchase of STEM lab supplies district-wide.

Holmes Community College alumna Ashley Crandall (’14) is paying it forward in the Madison County area through her kindness initiative. Ashley started The Catching Kindness Project in July 2018 when she saw a need to spread kindness and joy in her community.

On May 16, Holmes Community College Police Officer Sgt. Carzell Cavett received a Metro Area Top Cop award during Mississippi’s annual Police Memorial & Appreciation Day luncheon. These awards are presented each year to outstanding federal, state, and local law enforcement officers by the Mississippi Center for Police & Sheriffs.

Academic and technical students with exemplary quality point averages are recognized at the end of the fall and spring semesters by being named to the President’s or Dean’s list. To be eligible for such recognition a student must be enrolled in at least twelve semester hours.
