Holmes recognizes faculty, staff for years of service

On Monday, Aug. 6, Holmes Community College celebrated the upcoming 2018-2019 school year with a “Running of the Bull(dog)s” themed Opening Convocation on the Goodman Campus. The day included: a breakfast social, a mechanical bull riding competition, an introduction of new employees, a president’s message, break-out sessions and recognition of those who have reached milestones for their years of service to Holmes.

Electrical Lineman Program info session set for Aug. 28

Holmes Community College Workforce Development will hold an Electrical Lineman Program information meeting for those interested in being a part of the Fall 2018 cohort on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at 5 p.m. in the Science and Mathematics Building auditorium on the Goodman Campus. The meeting is mandatory for all potential students who are interested in applying to the 16-week training program.

Ridgeland Campus offers evening Adult Education classes

Holmes Community College is now offering evening High School Equivalency (HSE) classes on the Ridgeland Campus. The classes, which begin on July 24 and will continue throughout the school year, will be offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. in the McGowan Workforce Training Center.

Holmes to offer Residential Wiring Course at Yazoo Center

Holmes Community College now offers a Residential Wiring Class at the Yazoo Education Center. The course will begin on Tuesday, July 17 and will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for 8-10 weeks. There is no charge for the course, but there are limited seats, so interested persons should register early. There are no requirements or prerequisites required to take this course.
