Goodman students visit the MS Children's Home Services and CARES School
Thirteen students from the Goodman Campus who are part of the Social and Behavioral Science Honors Program visited the Mississippi Children's Home Services and CARES School in Jackson on Feb. 22.
The Social & Behavioral Science Honors Program is a pilot program developed by Goodman Instructors Jacqueline Bell and Rhonda Eichler-Johnson that combines a multitude of disciplines, although primarily Psychology and Social Work majors in one course.
The students are hand-picked and admittance to the course is by invitation only. Students are given real-world case studies that provide them with a clear and concise picture of what their work duties will entail in their chosen career path while offering them the opportunity to meet and learn from professionals currently in the field through facility visits. The course is not only informative but highly demanding of those students chosen.
Students attending included Ashley Blakely, Darnell Campbell, Cade Colleta, Maya Davis, Custus Ellen Ford, Kristina Hudson, Chelsea Miller, Brittany Moffett, Johnny Rainwater, Shae Walters, Keona Williams, Kassidy Winstead and Terrell Wynne.
