Members of the Communications and Marketing/Recruiting Departments of Holmes Community College brought home 11 awards from the College Public Relations Association of Mississippi annual meeting held Sunday through Tuesday in Ocean Springs.

Goodman Campus English instructor Chad Moorer received one of the faculty’s highest honors on May 1 during the Goodman Campus Awards and Honors Banquet – the Sally Wilson Distinguished Educator Award chosen by the student body from the Goodman Campus.

Academic and technical students with exemplary quality point averages are recognized at the end of the fall and spring semesters by being named to the President’s or Dean’s list. To be eligible for such recognition a student must be enrolled in at least twelve semester hours.

Holmes Community College is proud to announce that District Director of Communications/Associate Athletic Director for External Relations Steve Diffey graduated May 4 from the Mississippi Community College Leadership Academy (MCCLA).

The Holmes Community College Attala Center held a Ribbon Cutting and Open House this morning in Kosciusko to introduce the public to the new practical nursing wing at the center.

Holmes Community College’s Goodman Campus students received a unique opportunity Tuesday to take part in the ThinkFast Interactive Awareness Program sponsored by the Mississippi Governor’s Office of Highway Safety and MS-SADD and funded by Nissan North America. Holmes’ Student Support Services/MOSAIC sponsored the program Tuesday.

Holmes Community College will be closed for the Easter Holidays on Friday, April 14 and Monday, April 17.

The Eighty-Ninth Commencement exercises are set for Friday, May 12 in Frank Branch Coliseum on the Goodman Campus. The AAS/Certificate ceremony is set for 10 a.m. with the AA ceremony being set for 2 p.m.

The Holmes Community College Development Foundation, Inc. Golf Classic will be held Wednesday, May 10, at Deerfield Golf Club in Madison.

Holmes Community College Goodman Campus had three students named NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) semifinalists at the NATS event March 24-25 in Hattiesburg.
